My name is Jamie Ballenger.
I was born and raised in
Lahaina Maui, Hawaii and began surfing at age 8, I always
loved surfing Magazines and was amazed at the water shots
these guys got! I don't consider myself a pro at picture
taking or how a camera works. I don't understand what
aperture means or what ISO I should be in. I had a friend
yrs ago "Mark Burkowitz"
show me what he thought was the best setting for my camera
. I think my shots are pretty good because I'm a pretty
good surfer! Or was pretty good! LOL! Therefore I must
have pretty good timing. Plus these days you can take a
million shots of the same thing and then go home and pick
the best shot of that single wave! I have had 4 cover
shots over the yrs in some pretty big surf mags! I have
also been ripped off big time by magazines ! Mostly"
Longboard magazine" ! Bottom line is I love to take
pictures. I was getting way to upset surfing these days
with the crowds and found that swimming in the line up
with camera in hand and getting in the tube with the
surfer was really awesome! I hope you like the pictures I

SURF REPORT

All Duke fest
photos will be on sale for 14 days, After
14 days the prices will go back to the
default price of $35 per pic. After 30
days all shots will be taken off site to
make room for the up and coming winter
surf season. That go's for all
summer surf pics.

The
waves are small but fun this killer Monday
morning! Courts and Bowls look to be knee
to sometimes shouder high with a light
crowd! The winds are off shore and the sun
out and shinny! The Duke fest from my
stand point was a totall success! The
waves have never been better for a surf
meet at Queens and it was so consistent
that everyone got tons of waves! The web
cast was off Da hook with Rocky Cannon and
his crew doing a totally professional job!
It was killer! I would go home a little
early after each day and just turn the T.V
on and watch the rest of the heats in H.D
! Sick! I saw all my friends and it felt
Sooooo good to be home! Next up is the
nose riding contest which will be is Sep
and I'll have the entry forms on site
today! Stay tuned! LATS#%^$#%^#^%#%^

Below-Allot of people say
..Jamie your shots look really good...Duh! With
out this crew of surfers below My shots would be
average at best! There's a few guys missing from
this Bowls line up, but I'd say these guys have
helped make me look good! Guy Hagi has been huge
in my success in getting everyone of the boys on
T.V Just about every night in the summer
after a good surf session at Bowls!
