SURF
REPORT
The winds (E @ 10-20+ mph)
were moderate with bumpy conditions on our North shore early
yesterday. And the north and east sides were staying with
dry and clear skies throughout most of the day. The Bay was
small with moderate off-shore wind conditions. And the south
and lower west side shores were small all day with light on-shore wind conditions.
North Shore (Hookipa, Kanaha,
Paukukalo): North side had
moderate winds, and somewhat bumpy early, coming in
at 2-3+ ft. at Hookipa most of the day. Paukukalo was
1-2+ ft. and with moderate on-shore wind conditions most of the
day. And Kanaha was 2-3+ ft. and with moderate on-shore
winds, too.
Upper Westside (Honolua, Little
Makaha, S Turns): The Bay was
small, coming in at maybe 1-2 ft. and with moderate off-shore
winds most of the day. S Turn's was maybe 1-2 ft. and with
moderate off-shore wind conditions. Little Makaha was coming
in at maybe 1-2 ft. and with moderate off-shore winds, too.
Lower Westside (Lahaina Breakwall,
Mala Wharf, Sharkpit): Town
side was smooth, coming in at maybe 1-2 ft. and staying with light
on-shore wind conditions
throughout the day. The Breakwall and Mala
Wharf were maybe 1-2 ft., with on-shore winds all day.
East Side (Honomanu, Wailua Iki,
Koki, Hamoa): was maybe 1-2 ft.
with moderate on-shore conditions most of the day. Best bet
would have been early at Koki.
Southshore (La Perouse,
Dumps, Ma'alaea): was maybe 1-2 ft.
at the Cove, and with light to moderate off-shore wind
conditions most of the day. Dumps was maybe 1-2 ft. and
with light off-shore winds.
Forecast:
The winds (ENE @ 15-25+ mph)
will be moderate to strong with bumpy conditions early for the North
and East sides, and we will have dry and cloudy skies
throughout the morning hours Upcountry and on our north and
east sides today. The lower Westside will have light
to moderate on-shore winds throughout the day; the upper Westside will
stay with moderate to strong winds and off-shore conditions most of
the day. There are no advisories posted
the island of Maui.
The below advisory-level surf will
stick around today. The Bay will be small throughout
the day and with moderate to strong off-shore wind conditions and the north
shores will be doing the same with moderate to strong on-shore winds!
The south shores will still be small throughout the
day and the west shores will be doing the same
and with light to moderate on-shore wind conditions.
The tide (based on Lahaina-side) will be low (-0.2)
around 11:31am and then rise to a high (2.0) at around
8:05pm.
No significant swells are
expected through Tuesday. A moderate northwest swell is
expected late Wednesday.

updates on the wind conditions.
